PyroLac PrO Vs non fire-retardant lacquer
The benefits of PyroLac PrO are clearly illustrated
in this video, filmed by Warrington Fire Research
during testing.
The video shows PyroLac PrO’s performance against
a panel with a non fire-retardant coating, under identical
test conditions.
A flame is applied to the panels for 1 minute. On
the PyroLac PrO panel this flame is instantly extinguished,
leaving the intumescent to perform (as shown by the
bubbling) for the remaining 9 minutes of the test.
On the non fire-retardant panel, the flames continue
to burn throughout the test.
In a real building fire situation, PyroLac PrO will
greatly increase the amount of time for exit, which
is particularly important where exit route corridors
are wood panelled.
